Christmas Day 2011

Tina let the boys pick their own breakfast for Christmas morning.  They chose a special holiday version of Cap'n Crunch.  Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like sweetened corn and oat cereal.

After breakfast, we started opening presents.  The boys liked their new Beyblade spinning tops and the nerf guns my brother sent (not pictured because we didn't open them until later).
Sara liked the beyblades too.

Sara did not want to unwrap any of her presents.  Fortunately the boys did not mind helping her unwrap her gifts.  She was excited about the Cozy Coupe (she kept coming back to peek at what was under the wrapping paper) but she did not want to pull the paper away.

Eventually we let the boys open it for her.  Once Sara got inside, she did not want to get out.

Christmas was on a Sunday so we went to church in the early afternoon.  All of the boys in our family received matching neckties to wear to church on Christmas day.

Unfortunately, the lure of the zipper on the fancy new zipper tie was too great for Oscar to leave alone.  He was playing with the zipper on his necktie and he broke it after less than ten minutes of wearing it.  Tina and I were able to fix it later that night (she sewed the two pieces together and I tied the knot) but Oscar did not get to wear his matching tie to church on Christmas.  After church, Tina took this photo of Calvin and me in our matching neckties.

At the end of the day, we talked to our families on Skype.
